“He’s not the adopted grandson, he’s just ‘grandson’”

A local family have shared the story of adopting their son and the support they received from family, friends and social workers along the way. 

When Wirral couple Laura and Graeme decided to adopt, they were a little worried about what the process would involve. But once their son finally came home, he settled into their family perfectly. 

Laura said: “[Graeme’s] nan was saying […] ‘he was meant to be with us’. He’s not the adopted grandson he’s just ‘grandson’. No questions asked.” 

With the support of their nearest and dearest, and their social worker, they’ve navigated the adoption process and say themselves, they wouldn’t change any of it.
