Families enjoy events for youngsters this Summer
A series of family friendly events have entertained little ones throughout the Summer - while also offering parents a chance to connect with local support organisations.
Three events, aimed at families with children between 0-5 years, were held in community spaces, offering activities including treasure hunts, arts and crafts, sand play and even a visit from a special guest - the one and only Bluey.
Run by Wirral’s Family Hubs, the events took place in the Walled Garden in Wallasey, New Ferry Village Hall and Birkenhead Park Visitors Centre and were well attended by locals.
While the events catered to younger children, older siblings were welcome too.
Local services including staff from the Family Toolbox, local charity Involve NorthWest, Koala NW who support families with children aged 0-11 and more were on hand to link in with families and tell them what support is available to them.
Lucy Mills, School Readiness Co-ordinator at Wirral Council, said:
The free events are hosted by the family hubs for children up to five and their siblings.
(The idea is) to get our families out and about into the community and bring organisations together to share information.
Family Hubs are spaces where families can easily access a wide range of non-judgemental support to help them live well in Wirral. They bring together maternity services, health visitors, library and foodbank services and children’s centre activities.
