Congratulations to Wirral students receiving GCSE and BTec results
All those receiving exam results today (20 August 2026) have been congratulated by the Deputy Leader of Wirral Council and the chair of the Children, Young People and Education Committee.
Cllr Julie McManus, Deputy Leader of Wirral Council, said:
A huge well done to all the young people across Wirral receiving their GCSE and BTEC results today. Reaching this point is a significant achievement and reflects not only your hard work and dedication, but also your resilience in overcoming challenges along the way.
Today is an opportunity to celebrate everything you have accomplished and to look ahead with confidence to what comes next. Whether your future plans involve further education, training, an apprenticeship or starting work, there are many exciting opportunities ahead.
I would encourage every young person to recognise their own strengths and potential. Exam results are important, but they are just one part of a much bigger story about your ambitions, talents and future success.
Thank you also to the families, carers, teachers and support staff who have helped our young people achieve their goals. I wish everyone receiving their results today every success and happiness in the years to come.

I would like to congratulate all the young people across Wirral receiving their GCSE and BTec results today. These results reflect months and years of hard work, commitment and determination, and everyone should take pride in what they have achieved.
Whether you are moving on to sixth form, college, an apprenticeship, training or employment, today marks an important milestone and the start of an exciting new chapter.
For those who may not have achieved the results they hoped for, please remember there are many different pathways to success and support is available to help you explore your options.
I would also like to thank parents, carers, teachers and school staff for the encouragement and support they have provided throughout this journey. I wish all our young people the very best for the future.
