We love a good selfie, so five selfie hotspots just wasn't enough!
1. ‘Sea Spirit,’ Port Sunlight
The dramatic bronze fountain outside The Lady Lever Art Gallery is by sculptor Charles Wheeler, who designed the western fountains at Trafalgar Square, London. If you’re lucky to visit when the fountains are on, you’ll have a classical backdrop to rival anything in the capital.
2. The Column, West Kirby
The views of the Welsh hills from the western side of the borough are fantastic. The 60ft high column off Column Road, West Kirby, takes in West Kirby, Hilbre Island, Llandudno and the Great Orme.
3. War memorial, Grange Hill
Hoylake and West Kirby War Memorial has dramatic 360 degree views over to Wales, the Irish Sea, Lancashire, and – on a good day – Cumbria. The dramatic memorial recognises the sacrifices made in war and the surrounding gardens have been refurbished thanks to its Friends group.
4. Eastham Country Park
Directly opposite Liverpool’s John Lennon Airport, when you stand on the large stone jetty on the riverfront you are directly opposite two airport runways. Stand by for take-off and snap away!
5. Bidston Windmill
There may have been a windmill here since as early as 1596. Park up near Tam O’ Shanter Farm, Boundary Road, and walk to the mill for a snap from one of the highest points in Wirral.
6. Liverpool skyline
Woodside is the undisputed champion when it comes to capturing an image of Liverpool’s waterfront, but drive to the bottom of Morpeth Wharf, Birkenhead, and you’ll feel so close to the buildings, you reach out and touch the arena.
