Garden Waste subscriptions to open on 24 April
Set your reminders for 24 April – residents wanting a brown bin collection service from June will be able to apply or renew their subscription from this date.
The new Garden Waste subscription period will run from 13 June 2023 until 31 May 2024, with a three-week shutdown over Christmas and New Year.
The new subscription period is starting later this year to allow existing garden waste customers to receive collections they are owed.
Due to the rising costs of providing the kerbside collection service for garden waste, this year’s subscription is having to go up - from £50 to £52.50 – for the first bin. It will still be £30 for each additional bin.
Households that already subscribe to the fortnightly service can make changes to their subscription – such as adding another brown bin or reducing the number of bins they pay for – through the council’s website, from the same date (24 April).
Visit wirral.gov.uk/MyWirral and select ‘request a service – garden waste update’ or ‘cancel your Direct Debit arrangement’. Alternately, call 0151 606 2004 during regular office hours.
