Workshops to highlight suicide awareness in Wirral

21 February 2023
We believe all suicides are preventable. Together we can make a difference.

Wirral residents can take part in free workshops available for people who would like to understand how to support someone who is thinking of suicide. This is part of a new partnership campaign, called ‘Calm Care Call’, with specific focus on the road network.

Taking place throughout February and March and delivered by Wirral Mind, these sessions will discover that intervention can make a big difference and help prevent someone from taking their own life.

The aim is to:

  • raise awareness of suicide including risk factors and protective factors
  • increase understanding and knowledge of practical suicide prevention techniques
  • increase skills and confidence for you to have a potentially lifesaving conversation
  • discusses what to do if you see someone in crisis on Wirral's highways

This is following a partnership between Wirral Council’s Road Safety Team, Merseyside Police, National Highways and Wirral Mind to raise awareness of suicide and equip residents with the skills and confidence to have a potentially lifesaving conversation.

Further information on workshops and booking details are available via the Wirral Mind Eventbrite
