Tree maintenance works in Arrowe Country Park
Following routine inspections, our tree team has found 11 trees in Arrowe Country Park with significant health issues and starting from April 11 2023 will need to remove them.
Nine healthy trees will also be worked on to improve public safety. The work is next to Arrowe Park Road so we’ll have traffic management in place for around for a week.
As always, removing trees is a last resort but all precautions will be taken to support nesting birds and other protected species.
We never want to cut down trees but when they are not healthy, and pose a safety risk, this is our only option.
Work should be finished by Tuesday 18 April and plans are in place to plant 33 new trees in Arrowe Country Park later in the year.
When it comes to trees on council land, in parks and along the road, Wirral Council has a dedicated team that carry out regular inspections.
