Volunteers available to support community projects

Do you know of a charity or voluntary organisation that is in-need of some extra help for one-off projects?

Wirral Council staff are encouraged to support their local community by volunteering for a day or two per year. Employees have really got behind the initiative, and so far have helped out at Hoylake Cottage Hospital, volunteered at community arts project Lost Castles, and helped to transform the outdoor area at Wallasey Stick ’n’ Step. Plus much more!

Staff are now looking for new projects to support, either individually or in teams. This might be freshening up a community space, doing some painting, or taking the time out to spend with residents at a nursing home or local group.

If you’re a resident looking for a volunteering opportunity, the Community Action Wirral Volunteer Portal is a great online resource to help you find something that interests you. Visit www.communityactionwirral.org.uk to find out more.

Charities looking for extra support can email staffinfo@wirral.gov.uk to bid for staff resources for one-off activities. Employers looking for advice on releasing staff for volunteering opportunities can also contact the council at this email address.
