Due to current weather warnings of high winds and rain across Wirral this weekend, the Council has decided to close Grange Cemetery from Thursday 13 February and it will remain closed until the park has been assessed as safe.
This precaution has been taken on the advice of our in house arboricultural tree specialist in our Parks and Countryside team.
Several trees within the park have been identified as unsafe. When the weather is safe to do so we will be arranging for the removal of these trees.
The safety of our residents and visitors to our parks is our main priority and we have made this decision to ensure the safety of all park users.
During storm conditions we advise residents to stay indoors as much as possible and if you do go out, try not to walk or shelter close to any trees due to a risk of falling branches and trees.
Precaution is also needed after the storm has passed as trees may have been weakened by heavy winds and torrential rain and in some cases flooding.
If you see a fallen tree or large branches please report it to Wirral Community Patrol on 0151 666 5265.
