Wirral Council is committed to working with partners and the community to protect, in particular, the most vulnerable living in our community and those who are at most risk during these unprecedented times.
In a response to COVID-19, changes are having to be made to how our Children’s Centres operate. Efforts will be focused on the priority services provided at these centres to support children and families that are most vulnerable.
From 4pm today (Monday 23rd March) both Pensby Children’s Centre and Rock Ferry Children’s Centre will temporarily close. This will enable our efforts to be more effective through the following sites:
- Bromborough Children’s Centre (covering Wirral South and Wirral West)
- Seacombe Children’s Centre (Wallasey)
- Brassey Gardens (Birkenhead)
Following Government’s advice and adhering to social distancing and reduced contacts, Children’s Centre sessions will be suspended and the offer to families will be via telephone, email, the MyChildCan and Wirral Council Facebook feeds and websites.
We are working on some virtual story time + rhymetime sessions that you will be able to enjoy at home with your little ones, so please do keep a look out for those on social media.
If you are experiencing any family difficulties during these challenging times please do telephone your local Children’s Centre to speak to someone.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused. We will keep you up to date of any further changes or indeed when sites re-open. Stay safe and well and thank you all for your patience and understanding.
