As winter draws nearer, Scouts and Guides across the borough are selling stamps and preparing for the big sort and delivery of the Wirral Scout and Guide Christmas Post.
Entering the 37th year of the charity post, residents can again send their Christmas cards through this postal service, that can be delivered before the big day.
This year, stamps are priced at 35p and are on sale until Wednesday 18 December. The stamps feature a festive snowman, hand drawn by one of the winners in last year’s stamp design competition.
Richard Twemlow, Chair of the Wirral Scout and Guide Charity Post states: “We are delighted that to feature another of the festive designs drawn by our very own Guides/Scouts from last year’s competition as it really reflects the personal touch of the service we provide.”
Stamps sales end and post boxes will be removed at midday on Wednesday 18 December, providing just shy of a month to buy your stamps and post your Christmas cards.
The Wirral Scout and Guide Charity Post for 2019 will see 12 local charities supported including Wirral Fund for Children with Special Needs, Merseyside and Cheshire Blood Bikes and the Christopher Salmon Foundation as well as all the Scout and Guide groups that help sell the stamps, sort and deliver the cards.
Richard Twemlow, continues: “I hope that, this year, we continue to receive the support of those that buy stamps and post their cards with us every year but also from residents that haven’t previously used the scheme, to send their Christmas cards and support our Scouts and Guides as well as a variety of Wirral based charities that give back to the community.”
