We’ve all missed eating out during lockdown but thanks to the ‘Eat Out to Help Out’ scheme, you can make up for lost time during August.
From 3 August, customers can get a mouth-watering 50% off food and non-alcoholic drinks (up to £10 discount per diner) on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, when they visit businesses that are registered with the scheme.
As well as offering diners a delicious discount, 'Eat Out to Help Out' will help restaurants, cafés, bars and pubs get back on their feet after lockdown.
It couldn't be easier for customers. No vouchers are required, you simply go along to a participating business and enjoy your meal for a heavily discounted price. The business will then claim a reimbursement from the government for the discount they’ve given.
There is no limit to the number of times a customer can benefit, meaning you can eat out regularly during August, enjoy lots of great food and help our fantastic local businesses rebuild after lockdown. Winner, winner, chicken dinner! (other meals are also available).
One Wirral business taking part in the scheme is Gallaghers Traditional Pub in Birkenhead. Manager Sue Gallagher said: "It is a great idea. It will encourage people to come out again after being stuck at home for so long and enjoy a meal in safe surroundings. It's great for our customers but it's also great for us, as we look to bounce back after lockdown. We're excited to get back to what we do best."
