October is a busy month for Wirral Libraries with the annual Bookfest and Get Online Week 2017.
This year's Bookfest features 12 very diverse author events, covering genres from horror to humour and sci-fi to romance.
Authors supporting Wirral Bookfest this year include Maureen Lee, the popular author whose books are set in her home city of Liverpool. Crime-writer Kate Ellis, who was recently short-listed for ‘The Crime Writers’ Association Dagger in the Library 2017 award’, is also taking part, as is local horror writer, Ramsey Campbell.
Other writers involved in Bookfest 2017 are Andy Sawyer (science fiction), Elizabeth Gates (historical), David Hewitt (military, social, legal and political history), Angela Brabin (local history), Shirley Jones (literature), Dean Johnson (poetry), Howard White & Ian Sloan (humour/satire) and Diane Hinds, who literally wrote the book on ‘How to Promote your Book’!
All events are free, with refreshments kindly provided by the Friends of Wirral Libraries. Booking is essential and can be done by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org or telephoning Elaine on 0151 639 2334 or 07785 502 018. Alternately, you call in to any central library.
