LOCAL organisations in Leasowe are helping to give families a festive boost with free hampers containing quality food, health and wellbeing products.
More than 50 hampers are being provided, supplied to households in need of support, and produced by Prima Group, St Chads Church, Wirral Development Trust, Leasowe Community Centre, Wirral Council and local schools.
The project is a result of many local Leasowe organisations coming together to find a way to support those most in need to have a great Christmas with their families.
The hampers will include food to provide many meals, including items towards the recommended daily fruit and vegetable intake.
They’ve also been carefully designed to allow those who are in real need to cook the food appropriately with minimal cooking facilities.
Many of the products have been chosen for their quality, but also purchased from not-for-profit organisations on Wirral such as Leasowe Community Shop, allowing funds to stay locally and support the sustainability of local charitable organisations.
Christmas can be a hard time of the year, and these hampers will make a big difference to people's lives in Wirral.
The hampers include Christmas cards which have been written by local schoolchildren, as well as a community Christmas pack with advice on what services, support and events are taking place over the holiday period.
