Changes to bin collections over festive period

Residents are being asked to check their bin collection dates over the festive period.

There will be changes to collection dates to those households who usually have their green and grey bins collected on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Tuesday collections for Green and Grey bins

  • Bins normally collected on Tuesday 25th December will be collected on Saturday 22nd December.
  • Bins normally collected on Tuesday 1st January will be collected on Saturday 29th December.

Wednesday collections for Green and Grey bins

  • Bins normally collected on Wednesday 26th December will be collected on Sunday 23rd December.

There are no changes to collections due on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays. Don’t forget to put your bin out by 7am as normal on these days.

Brown garden waste collections

  • Garden waste collections will stop between 14th December and 14th January.

But if you need to get rid of your real tree after Christmas, you can now sign up for garden waste collections for just £18 until May 2019. That’s less than £2 per collection.

To make things easier, download a bin collection calendar at wirral.gov.uk/recycling
