The social enterprise organisation, HYPE, based in Birkenhead Park, is working to support cyclists in Merseyside, whether they are everyday commuters or learning to ride a bike for the first time.
They aim to encourage more people to take up cycling and offer more transport choice for communities across the city region, starting programmes with children and young people and working through a range of age groups to bring a cycle culture to our communities.
One of the ways they do this is by offering a second-hand bike sales service from their Hub at the lodge in Birkenhead Park.
They sell a variety of bikes, including BMX's, hybrids, mtbs and road bikes and all bikes are sold only after a full service by a professional mechanic and all come with a four-week warranty.
HYPE will also accept the return the bike after a few days, for a full refund, if you are not happy with it for any reason.
You can check out the full selection on offer by visiting the Hub any Monday or Friday from 1pm-4pm.
HYPE also offer a full repair and maintenance service for the general public and the revenue generated from this service supports the ongoing core work of the project - helping those who are less fortunate, get out on two wheels.
Offered Monday to Friday, 9am-12pm, there is no need to book an appointment for this maintenance service, just drop in with your bike and they'll book you in there and then!
A free, full quote will be provided when you drop the bike off. In the case of additional unforeseen work being required, they will always contact you to ensure that you are happy to proceed.
All bikes repaired are given a thorough test ride before being returned. Where appropriate, they can supply and fit secondhand parts as part of any repair they undertake.
