New construction technology sales jobs being created in Birkenhead
Twenty state-of-the-art construction technology sales jobs will be created in Birkenhead this year, thanks to the launch of a new regional hub by Causeway Technologies.
Causeway’s new office at Peel L&P’s Hythe in Wirral Waters, Birkenhead was officially opened by British hockey star Sam Quek MBE.
The gold medal-winning Olympian and TV personality cut the ribbon alongside Phil Brown, Causeway’s chief executive, and Trevor Steven, Everton’s legendary midfielder and now Causeway’s mental health ambassador.
It marks another milestone in the growth of the business which secured a major £120 million investment in 2021 to boost the continued development of its software for construction.
Richard Mawdsley, director of development for Wirral Waters at Peel L&P, said: “Hythe really is appealing to exciting and innovative businesses that see sustainability and technology as core parts of their growth strategy. This is exactly why we created Hythe, to attract ground-breaking and environmentally conscious businesses and entrepreneurs to the Wirral, helping to accelerate growth and attract economic prosperity. We are very pleased to welcome the Causeway team to Hythe and we look forward to seeing the growth and success they achieve from their new premises.”
Hythe is among the top 10 percent of all buildings for its green credentials, achieving a BREEAM Excellent rating by including low carbon procurement initiatives and innovative construction techniques which set high standards in environmental sustainability. Efficient building systems, sustainable urban drainage, the installation of photovoltaic panels, electric car charging points, cycling facilities, and future provisions for bike charging points all contributed to this achievement.
Fitted out with the latest in interactive technology within a fresh and modern, natural design, the sophisticated office space also includes a vibrant central area for collaboration, multifunctional spaces for welcoming clients, meeting rooms named after local heroes, Liverpool-centric artwork, a sustainable mix of recycled furniture and lower carbon materials in interiors, and high acoustic comfort and biophilic design to boost employee wellbeing.
Hythe has been funded by Peel L&P, the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority, through the Local Growth Fund, and the Merseyside Pension Fund, managed by CBRE’s Investment Advisory team, part of CBRE Capital Advisors. Local Growth Funding is awarded to the Liverpool City Region Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) and invested through the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority’s Strategic Investment Fund.
Wirral Council has also played a pivotal role to support Peel L&P’s team in delivering the project, emphasising the importance of collaborative working to ensure that the vision for Wirral Waters is delivered.
Leisa Docherty, chief people officer at Causeway, said: “As Causeway’s sales hub and centre of excellence in the north, the new office at Wirral Waters provides a great place to work with excellent facilities for our growing team. The space has been designed to reflect its history as being home to the former Seacombe Smalt Works, established in the early nineteenth century, with a nod to the local region.
“We’re excited to continue creating jobs and building our talent pipeline in Merseyside. Our aim is to support the local community, not only as an employer but also with our CSR plans by enabling employees to volunteer in support of the local community. We have some great opportunities for entry-level sales development positions, which will be based at our fantastic new office.”
The new hub is expected to create a strong draw for candidates for Causeway’s sales roles.
