Wirral Council teams have put together some video and website ideas for anyone who is self-isolating due to COVID-19 (Coronavirus), to help them stay occupied, fit and healthy during this time.

Join staff from Wirral’s leisure centres and stay active at home. Fitness instructors have uploaded short exercise clips to Youtube, including Buggy Park Fitness and West Kirby Concourse’s regular chair-based exercise class.

NHS campaign Every Mind Matters has published advice to help people look after their mental health while they are staying home. It provides 13 useful steps – including taking time to relax, not watching too much news, and talking about your worries.
The Headspace website and app is offering free meditation, sleep and movement exercises. Visit the website for videos, calming music, and short stories designed to inspire your day.
Paying more attention to the present moment – and to your own thoughts and feelings – can improve your mental wellbeing. The NHS website has some helpful information to help you practice mindfulness.

Although libraries in Wirral are closed at the moment to help reduce the risk of COVID-19, you can still join online for free and access a wide range of e-books and e-audio.
Our library partner Bookstart - a national charity to help get children reading – has a range of interactive storybooks and games you can read and enjoy online with children.
Wirral’s Get it Loud in Library gigs at Birkenhead Library are growing with every event. Previous shows include Sinead O'Brien, Egyptian Blue, The Orielles, Hannah Cohen, Pip Blom and Our Girl.
