Could you adopt? Adopters speak about their experiences

Adoption in Merseyside (AiM) are looking for a range of adopters from all walks of life.

There are currently more than 40 children in Merseyside in need of loving and stable homes, many of them part of a sibling group.

Meet Kate and Adrian who adopted three siblings as they had the space in their heart and their home:

AiM is the adoption agency for Knowsley, Liverpool, Sefton and Wirral councils who came together to bring adoption knowledge and experience under one roof. As a regional agency, the service finds families for children in care as well as providing professional support throughout and after the adoption journey.

Chris and Phil have adopted three boys. They used the support service provided by AiM to help form attachments at an early stage, while also attending group sessions which allowed them to meet other adopters and speak to professionals.

Could this be you?

You will need to have a child-friendly lifestyle, provide a stable environment and be ready for the challenge and lifelong commitment of adoption. You will also need time, patience, love and resilience to help a child reach their full potential.

AiM welcome adoptive parents from a wide range of backgrounds and are open to applicants from all backgrounds regardless of age, race, religion, ethnicity, gender or sexuality; couples, single people, disabled people and people from all cultures are welcome.

If you are interested in adoption, now could be the perfect time for you to adopt and grow your family.
