Businesses can attend a free online road safety seminar this month

Logistical businesses across the borough can attend a free online road safety seminar on Wednesday 21 October with various guest speakers.  

The session, named ‘Safer People, Safer Vehicles, Safer Journeys’, focuses on road safety during the darker months and vehicle safety, looking in particular at tyre safety as part of Tyre Safety Month.

Tyre safety is especially important with the challenging weather conditions that autumn and winter can bring therefore the session invites attendees to listen and engage with guest speaker Stuart Jackson, Chairman of Tyresafe on the dangers of driving with poor quality tyres. Richard Owen from Agilysis Ltd will also be speaking at the online event on how the clock change impacts Road Traffic Collisions.

Wirral Council’s road safety team have partnered with How’s My Driving for this session and their representative, Mary Stealey, will speak at the online event. The company supply yellow stickers for vehicles for the public to submit feedback on their driver and businesses who attend the online seminar can, depending on certain criteria, access up to 12 months free membership.

The session will be hosted through Zoom and will start at 10:30am on Wednesday 21 October. The session will last approximately one hour, with an optional fifteen-minute question and answer session at the end.

The councils Mind Your Business project is a National Award-Winning scheme and has delivered various themed seminars for the last five years. The project has provided information and knowledge to over 100 businesses around the borough on the importance of road safety. The last event hosted by the team was the Mock Trial in February of this year.
