February Half-Term Free School Meal Support

Plans are once again in place to ensure Wirral children who normally get free school meals do not go hungry during the February half term school holidays.

Last year Wirral Council secured more than £1.2 million under the government’s Covid Winter Grant Scheme from the Department for Work and Pensions. Some of this funding is being used towards providing breakfast and lunch over the school holidays.

This February half-term more than 7000 households who receive free school meals will be supported, with more than 8000 food parcels prepared.

The project is being co-ordinated by Neo Community in partnership with Wirral’s community food providers.
