Wirral Sailing Centre will officially reopen West Kirby Marine Lake to licence holders only from Thursday 30 July.
Activities such as sailing, windsurfing, stand-up paddle boarding and kayaking will be able to start on the marine lake again as long as users have pre-booked a session on the water.
Cllr Pat Hackett, Leader of the Council said: “We really appreciate how patient most people have been while the marine lake has been closed during lockdown.
“As much as we would have liked to open the lake sooner, we had to prioritise the health and safety of our staff as well as people using the lake.
“We have now installed new barriers and extensive signage around the lake and I kindly ask everyone who plans to visit to follow the guidelines we’ve put in place.”
Anyone wanting to book a session or purchase a 3 monthly licence should call 0151 929 7707. Even with a 3 month licence, users will still need to call the sailing centre directly to book a session on the lake.
Once a booking has been confirmed, users will be given a code for the car park barrier.
Sailing will be restricted to one person per boat only, unless a second person is from the same household or from a social bubble in line with government guidance.
The boatyard, toilets and washrooms all remain closed and staff will only be on site to provide advice on bookings.
Access to the lake will only be permitted during sailing centre opening hours - 9am to 8pm, 7 days a week.
