The temporary cycle lane, installed to support increased cyclists during the summer, will be removed from Kings Parade as we move into the autumn months.
The temporary measure at Kings Parade, New Brighton, was installed back in March to provide additional road space for those on two wheels and support the increased number of cyclists, particularly during the national lockdown.
Although the route proved popular over the summer, as less cyclists use it and traffic levels along Kings Parade increase, the temporary cycle lane will be removed tomorrow, 1 October.
The removal of the measures will ensure that the route is being used as efficiently and safely as possible with the measures in place being much more difficult to maintain during poor weather conditions.
The council continue to explore funding opportunities for the temporary measures to be installed in this location next year or for a more permanent measures to support active travel.
