Local businesses affected by the latest Government Covid-19 restrictions are being asked to set up a MyWirral account to access new grant funding.
On 14th October, Liverpool City Region was put under tier 3 restrictions and the Government pledged further support for those hospitality & leisure sector businesses which were forced to close as a result.
This financial support will be available to public houses and bars (except those selling substantial meals,) betting shops, casinos, adult gaming centres and soft play centres.
An online claim form for the Local Restrictions Support Grant (LRSG) will be available from Wednesday, 28th October onwards, on the Wirral Council website. Ahead of that date, Wirral Council is asking businesses to set up a “MyWirral” account which will be needed to apply online for the grant.
Businesses will also be directed to their MyWirral account to upload relevant information to support the grant process including a current statement to verify bank account details, the business rates reference number for each premises (printed on the latest rates bill) and, where applicable, the registered company number and VAT number.
LRSG payments will be available to eligible business premises, dependent upon their rateable value, for each two-week period of closure following the start of the localised restrictions. The level of grant is set at £667 for premises with a rateable value of £15,000 or less, £1000 for those with a rateable value between £15,001 and less than £51,000 and at £1,500 for those with a rateable value of greater than £51,000.
Eligibility criteria for the scheme has been set by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy and includes the relevant state aid regulations with which businesses must comply.
