Hilbre Island closes to visitors

Hilbre Island has closed to visitors following government guidelines to help tackle COVID-19 (coronavirus).

This closure, starting from Friday 3 April is so the council can prioritise health and safety, observe social distancing guidance, and reduce the spread of coronavirus.

The council is working hard to ensure essential services are maintained and health and safety is a top priority: visiting Hilbre Island is considered a non-essential journey, and closing will also help to reduce pressure on essential resources should emergency assistance be required.

Parks across Wirral will remain open for residents to use for exercise.
