Get your jabs before Christmas at one of Wirral’s Pop-up Vaccination Clinics

  • Every fully vaccinated adult in the UK needs to get boosted now, to protect themselves and their loved ones from getting seriously ill from COVID-19
  • Unvaccinated? it’s not too late. Your first dose is waiting for you and will offer 80% protection against most variants of the virus, including Delta, which is still circulating in Wirral.
  • To boost your protection against Omicron it is essential to get your third dose
  • Walk-in vaccination clinics are popping up across the Wirral. For the latest information go to Wirral NHS CCG website.

Over the last few days, we have seen a rapid expansion of the Government’s COVID-19 Booster programme.

Nationally, more than 50% of eligible people have now had their all-important third jab, with all those who are over 18 and have received two doses, invited to come forward to bolster their immunity.

If you have not had your first, second or booster dose yet, don’t worry!

You can book online or attend a pop-up clinic for a walk-in jab – with no appointment necessary.

Julie Webster, Wirral’s Director of Public Health, said:

“Boosters are now essential for fully vaccinated adults.

But my message to people who have not had their jabs is that it’s not too late!

Your vaccinations are waiting for you - and as we head into the busy festive period, it is more important than ever that you claim them.

"First and second doses are really important and will protect you well from most variants of the virus – such as Delta, which is still circulating in Wirral.

Getting all 3 doses will give you the best protection from becoming seriously unwell if you catch COVID-19.

The sooner you start your course of vaccinations, the sooner you and your family are protected.  With the additional walk-in clinics popping up this week in Wirral, there is no reason to wait.”

Like all medicines, the COVID-19 vaccines can cause side effects, but please don’t be put off. Any side effects are usually mild and only last a day or two and the benefit of having the booster for you, your family and your friends is huge. Getting boosted is our best defense and hope of protecting people against the new variant.
