Financial help to repair bicycles and get people back on two wheels

A national scheme has launched to help people get back on their bikes by contributing to the cost of repairs.

The government is offering vouchers worth up to £50 to repair bicycles for people who want to get back into cycling, or who need an alternative method of transport while social distancing measures are in place.

Applications for the Fix your Bike Voucher Scheme open at 11:45pm on Tuesday 28 July 2020 and up to two vouchers can be claimed per household.

Register for The Fix your Bike Voucher Scheme on the Energy Saving Trust website.

Government advice is that the number of vouchers is limited so residents are asked to consider others before they apply and if repairs are already planned and can be paid for outside of the scheme, these should still go ahead.

Vouchers can only be used with bike repairers or mechanics that are registered for the scheme. In Wirral, these include:

Bike repairers wanting to take part in the scheme should read the government guidance for bike repair businesses.
