The Holiday Activities with Food programme returns this Easter
Children across Wirral will be able to enjoy a huge range of activities from graffiti art workshops to sports activities to cookery sessions this Easter.
The Holiday Activities with Food (HAF) programme, funded by the Department for Education returns bigger and better than ever.
With 64 clubs across the area for eligible children this means that young people aged between 5-16 in receipt of free school meals can enjoy a variety of activities and healthy lunches over the Easter holidays.
There will also be free healthy meals provided throughout the programme, ensuring that children and young people stay nourished and energized throughout the day.
In 2022, the programme, which is coordinated by Edsential on behalf of Wirral Council, supported more than 12,000 children and young people and their families in Wirral.
One parent who attended last year's Easter programme described it as a "fantastic initiative" that kept their child entertained and fully nourished throughout the school holidays.
Heather Lewis, HAF Programme Manager, said: "The HAF programme offers an exciting range of activities this year for children and young people in Wirral. The programme aims to provide a safe, fun, and inclusive environment for them to learn, grow and make new friends. We are so pleased to be a part of an initiative that supports children and young people to reach their full potential.”
Edsential is calling on all parents and carers to check if their child is eligible for free school meals because this could help in unlocking a range of benefits for eligible children - not only will the child then be able to participate in the exciting and varied programme of activities on offer this Easter, but they'll also be able to enjoy delicious and nutritious free lunches during term time.
