Foster families enjoying easter gathering in Birkenhead Park

Wirral Council’s foster families have enjoyed a fun filled activity morning at Birkenhead Park. The event was full of chocolate, easter arts and crafts, games and more. It was an opportunity for foster carers and children who are looked after to connect, support each other and swap stories.

Partner organisation OOMOO supported the day with activities for families. They planted sunflower seeds in pots with the children and young people, and asked them to take care of the seeds, watch them flourish and grow to their full potential - just like their foster carers do with them.

One of Wirral Council's new foster carers said they really enjoyed meeting with other carers and sharing their experiences and getting some valued advice.

Our little boy had lots of fun enjoying the activities and playing with other children. We had the opportunity to chat to the Fostering team colleagues and partner organisations. Thank you!

Thanks to everyone who helped to organise the easter gathering and to all behind-the-scenes staff.

Plenty of fun was had by all and everyone enjoyed the eggs-perience...
