A bumper Bank Holiday in Wirral
As we approach the final bank-holiday weekend before the festive season, a number of communities and businesses are hoping to make the most of the long weekend with some exciting events lined up for local communities. We’ve pulled together some of the events happening in Wirral this weekend that residents and visitors alike can enjoy:
New Brighton Summer Continental Market: 24 - 29 August, New Brighton Promenade
Back for another year, the Continental Market returns to New Brighton Promenade for 6 days with family-friendly entertainment and tasty food from around the works. There will also be craft and fairground stalls to enjoy.
Open 10am – 6pm Wednesday to Saturday and 10am – 5pm on Sunday and Monday.
Inflatable Obstacle Course at Europa Pools: Thursday 25 August – Saturday 3 September
Do you know someone aged 9-16 who is ready for a challenge? Take on the brand new inflatable obstacle course at Europa Pools! A 45 minute session is just £6.
Various sessions from 25 August – 3 September. Booking via website or 0151 606 2010 is essential.
West Kirby Farmers' Market: 27 August, St Andrew’s Church Hall
A regular event, this is a must-visit for local foodies. This is the perfect opportunity to purchase fresh, local produce direct from the people who produce it.
9am to 12 noon. Occurs the 4th Saturday of every month.
New Brighton Pride: 27 August, Floral Pavilion
History will be made this bank holiday as the first ever Pride event in Wirral takes place. Kicking off with a gathering to officially open this community-led event, there will be speeches by local LGBTQ+ people and allies to the community followed by family-friendly entertainment, live music, market stalls and more.
Speeches at 10.30am. Event runs 11am – 5pm.
New Ferry Summer Festival: 27 - 29 August
A weekend full of celebration with stalls, vintage buses and even a visit from some dinosaurs. Saturday will see local dog owners impress judges and crowds at the New Ferry Dog Show, whilst a funfair takes place over the 3 days.
10.30am to 4.30pm each day. Please note: Monday will only feature the funfair and no other entertainment.
