The Wirral South Constituency Committee is calling on local groups to apply to a new small grants fund set up to address social isolation in the area.
Launching Friday, July 21, the fund is part of the Committee’s priority to prevent and reduce social isolation in Bebington, Bromborough, Clatterbridge, Eastham and Heswall.
Councillor Chris Carubia, Chair of the Wirral South Constituency Committee, said: “We have been working hard to address social isolation which can lead to mental health problems and health issues.
“This fund signifies the next stage in our approach, offering funding to local, social sector organisations. We firmly believe that communities across Wirral South have the potential to help us address social isolation from within, and that together we can make a meaningful difference.”
Eligible groups who can apply include:
- Registered charity or charitable incorporated organisation
- Fully constituted community or voluntary group (including Parent Teacher Associations)
- Faith groups
- Social enterprise or CIC
Applicants can view the criteria and apply from July 21st via the Wirral Council website, until noon on Friday, September 8. Successful applicants will receive payment by the end of September, and have until Monday, October 1 2018 to complete their project and spend the funds.
