A new service offering support, advice and testing for people at risk of HIV is launched this Friday.
The service will offer instant results, counselling, and onward support if needed.
W-SPOT will be launched at a public event in Pilgrim Street Arts Centre, Pilgrim Street, Birkenhead, on Friday, November 10 from 1-3pm. All are welcome to find out more about the service and hear guest speakers talking about their commitment to HIV prevention.
W-SPOT also provides a free condom distribution scheme for people for people at risk of HIV. It’s outreach team will be working across Wirral, giving information and advice on sexual health and HIV testing.
If you think you may have been exposed to HIV, the newly launched website www.w-spot.org can provide you with information and advice about HIV testing, staying safe and reducing your risk.
A drop in clinic is also open every Wednesday from 5-8pm in Devonshire Resource Centre, 141 Park Road North, Birkenhead Wirral CH41 0DD. The person doing the test with you, will explain how it works and what the results mean. They will also provide an opportunity to explore how you might feel about different results. They will answer any questions or address any worries you may have.
