Library events go sci-fi!

Due to the success of last year's 'Dalek Day,' Wirral model makers Dave Owen and Joe Nagle will be returning to Wallasey Central Library with their full-size replica Daleks on Saturday, October 14, from 9am-1pm, and 2pm-5pm.

As well as bringing in their replica Daleks, Dave and Joe will be holding Marvel drawing sessions, (booking essential £1 per child, see below for details), and there will be Marvel drawings on sale.    

Also on a sci-fi theme, the Friends of the Library will be screening  two films on October 14 at 10am and 2.15pm respectively. 'Silent Running' (1972, and Stanley Kubrick's '2001: A Space Odyssey,' digitally restored and remastered.

On Monday, October 16, at 6.30pm, Andy Sawyer, Science Fiction Collections Librarian at the University of Liverpool Library, will be talking about the discovery of science fiction by Liverpool fans in the 1930s and how fan groups changed the face of the genre. Free but you must book first.
