The Chief Veterinary Officer has extended a Prevention Zone to help protect poultry from avian flu to the whole of England, Scotland and Wales, until Feb 28, 2017.
Poultry and captive bird keepers must continue to house their birds and keep a close watch on their health.
In light of recent, confirmed cases of H5N8 avian flu in Great Britain, the extension of this order is precaution to help prevent infection from wild birds. The ban on poultry gatherings is still in place and will be reviewed according to the level of risk.
