Dee coast update

Environmental Health officers in Wirral are satisfied that the waters in the River Dee along the west Wirral coast are safe after an incident in Chester yesterday saw a release of waste water into the River Dee.

For 24 hours, as a precautionary measure, the council was asking Wirral residents to avoid contact with the water along the Dee coastline. We also suspended shellfish harvesting activity in the river off the Wirral coast.  There is now no longer a need for such advice and action.
